WHY THE NAME SPOONSTOPPERS?
It is believed that the game of golf originated in Scotland in the 1100"s. Prior to the
20th century, wood-shafted club faces were shaped like a spoon [ concave ] and were
most similar to today's 3-woods.
Wood heads were introduced in the 1930"s and began
to be replaced by steel and then by titanium in the 1970's. By the 1980's, shafts
were made of graphite.
THE MAKING OF SPOONSTOPPERS
Until now, old drivers have been hidden away, but SpoonStoppers allow golf lovers to
display these wonderful old drivers in a unique manor. Most of the old drivers used
to make SpoonStoppers come from basements, attics and barns and are between
40 and 70 years old.
Drivers are originals with brand names such as Wilson, Spalding,
Walter Hagen, Northwestern, Dunlop and more. Driver sizes vary from #1 to #5, since golf drivers are made of some of the hardest material known by man, each
SpoonStopper still shows markings from the game and are brought back to life
with a beautiful finish.
Since SpoonStoppers TM still bear brand names, patents and
individual designs, they are unique conversation pieces and collectibles in the home
as well as in any place where golfers congregate. SpoonStoppers are made entirely
in the USA. Display on wine bottles at home or great for any bar display. |
